Warmest hearty greetings from Bali to you, beloved friends of Karuna Bali.
 
I would like to take this opportunity to bring you up to date with some the adventures we are bringing together as we move through this exciting year......

As I sure you will appreciate like all organisations our local costs are increasing yet we want to lift our staff wages to keep up with their rising living costs and we continue to pursue our longterm goal for maximising sustainability, so as you will see many of the changes occurring are reflecting these desires.
 
A fundamental change has been to put a Health Plan in place  year which is very deserved and is a major benefit to the staff and their families.

Media productions - film making, graphics dept are now boldly seeking outside projects to provide our students with more practical experience and bring in more income.  We are increasing the One Year student numbers in 2015 to add another 4 students taking the total to 28 - two classes of 14.  We are raising the short three month course fees by $10 - doesn't sound like much but there are a lot of students involved - 30 classes with 10 on average in each.  Based on this year's success with our three new interns we have created an Annual Trainee Management program offering three placements from our graduate One Year students who will work as assistants to heads of departments to learn office admin, management skills by receiving real work experience.

One new item we really love is a result of a request from several High Schools asking for help with their senior students.  We have been perfecting this program over three years with one local high school which is resulting in changing the dynamic of that school through the student's new behaviour and attitudes.  Now other schools want to participate and we are ready for full implementation. We are providing this 'New Beginnings' program where the emphasis is about removing the blocks to learning through values, taking self responsibility and opening to self respect.  Many of the students are from financially challenged families who cannot afford the additional education, to assist them we have opened a New Beginnings Student Sponsorship program for this group with the first years intake of 120 students at $30 partial sponsorship and 30 students at $50 full sponsorship.

And best of all and probably the most impressive undertaking is the enthusiastic commitment by all  that Karuna Bali will become an English Speaking Environment for all persons, management, faculty and students alike.
